Abstract
Un sistema de sujecion de varillas de perforacion para asegurar una varilla de perforacion en una posicion seleccionada. El sistema de sujecion de varillas de perforacion tiene un huso hueco con una parte superior que define ranuras axiales y una parte de base que define al menos una abertura radial. Una pluralidad de mordazas se mueve radialmente hacia el interior a una posicion de sujecion de varillas de perforacion y radialmente hacia el exterior a una posicion de liberacion de varilla de perforacion. Cada mordaza es recibida dentro de una ranura axial respectiva del huso hueco. Un accionador mueve la pluralidad de mordazas entre la posicion de sujecion de la varilla de perforacion y la posicion de liberacion de varilla de perforacion abierta. Un ensamblaje de resortes de gas comprimido ejerce una fuerza en el accionador para cerrar las mordazas. Un operador hidraulico ejerce fuerza en el accionador para superar la fuerza del ensamblaje de resortes de gas comprimido para abrir las mordazas. Las aberturas radiales de la parte de base del huso permite la purga del material que fluye dentro del huso.
