Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain color copied images faithful to originals stably over a long period by comparing the density detection values and standard values of color separated images, and executing color separated image formation stages in accordance with the results thereof. CONSTITUTION:Density patterns 31C-33C by a cyan toner, density patterns 31M-33M by a magenta toner and density patterns 31Y-33Y by a yellow toners are detected respectively with detection units 25, 26, 27. The outputs of the units 25-27 are inputted via detection circuits 34C, 34M, 34Y to comparators 36C, 36M, 36Y by which they are compared with the standard values from standard voltage generating circuits 35C, 35M, 35Y. The outputs of the comparators 36C, 36M, 36Y are inputted to an arithmetic control circuit 371, by the outputs whereof electric power sources 38, 39 for the 1st, 2nd electrostatic chargers and an electric power source for illuminating lamps are controlled.
