Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent double feeding of paper by a method wherein the friction coefficient between a lower roller and the paper is made smaller than that between an upper roller and the paper, and the lower roller is driven at a low speed to a direction opposite to paper feeding direction. CONSTITUTION:When paper P runs through a spot 2 the paper P is sent out by convex tips of both an upper roller 3 and a lower roller 4 with pressure being applied on both sides of the paper P. On this occasion a friction coefficient between the paper P and an osculating convex surface of the upper roller 3 is made far bigger than that applicable between two sheets of the paper, and the upper roller 3 is made to rotate at a speed and a direction identical with that of the paper P at its running. On the other hand, the friction coefficient between the paper P and the osculating convex surface of the lower roller 4 is made bigger than that applicable between two sheets of the paper and smaller than that applicable between the upper roller 3 and the paper P, and the lower roller 4 is made to drive at a low speed to a direction opposite to a running direction of the paper P as well. When two sheets of the paper are supplied in layers, sending of two sheets of the paper in layers is prevented as successive paper is returned by the lower roller 4 at the spot 2, the upper paper alone is sent out by a bigger friction of the upper roller 3 and the successive paper is sent after the foregoing process.
