Claims (68)
- 互いに軸方向に整列し、押し縮められた形状から拡張された形状に拡張可能である、複数の全体的にチューブ状の自己拡張型のステント・セグメントであって、各々のステント・セグメントが、少なくとも前記拡張された形状においては、他のステント・セグメントに接続されておらず、前記ステント・セグメントの各々が、
前記拡張された形状においてよりも、前記押し縮められた形状において互いに近接している第1のストラットと第2のストラットと、
前記ステント・セグメントを前記押し縮められた形状に維持するために、前記第1のストラットと前記第2のストラットを、互いに保持する拘束構造とを含み、
前記拘束構造が、前記ステント・セグメントを前記拡張された形状に自己拡張させるために、選択的に開放可能である、ステント。 - 前記拘束構造が、前記第1のストラットに接続されたヘッドと、前記第2のストラットに接続されたレセプタクルとを含み、前記ヘッドが前記レセプタクルにより開放可能に係合されている請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記レセプタクルが、前記押し縮められた形状において前記ヘッドと係合するように構成されたバンプを含む請求項2に記載のステント。
- 前記拘束構造が、前記第1と第2のストラットの間に延びる、壊れやすい部材を含む請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記拘束構造が、前記第1と第2のストラットの間に結合材料を含む請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記拘束構造が、前記第1と第2のストラットの上を延びる被覆である請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記被覆が、生物活性剤を含む請求項6に記載のステント。
- 前記生物活性剤が、肥厚化を抑制する請求項7に記載のステント。
- 前記被覆が、生分解性である請求項6に記載のステント。
- 拘束構造が、流体に触れた時に溶融するように構成されている請求項1に記載のステント。

- 前記交互配置部材が、前記拡張された形状において、軸方向に交互に配置されている請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記ステント・セグメントが、前記押し縮められた形状においては互いに接続されていない請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記拘束構造が、フック、ループ、鉤、結び、小穴、壊れやすい素子から選択される構造を含む請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記ステント・セグメントが、複数の閉じたセルを含む請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記閉じたセルが、前記第1と第2のストラットにより少なくとも部分的に結合され、前記拘束構造が、前記閉じたセルの少なくとも1つの内部に存在する請求項18に記載のステント。
- キャリア・シャフトと、
前記キャリア・シャフトにより搬送される複数のステント・セグメントであって、前記ステント・セグメントの各々が押し縮められた形状から拡張された形状に自己拡張可能であり、前記拡張された形状においては互いに対して軸方向に移動可能であり、前記ステント・セグメントの各々が前記ステント・セグメントを前記押し縮められた形状に維持する拘束構造を有する、複数のステント・セグメントと、
前記拡張された形状に、前記ステント・セグメントが自己拡張することを可能にするために、1つまたはそれ以上のステント・セグメントにおいて、前記拘束構造を開放するように、選択的に作動させる作動部材とを含む、
人体内腔でステントを展開するためのカテーテル・システム。 - 前記作動部材が、前記拘束構造を開放するために、前記ステント・セグメントを部分的に拡張させるように構成された拡張部材を含む請求項20に記載のカテーテル・システム。
- 前記拡張部材上をスライド可能に配置され、その選択された部分を露出させるために引き込み可能なシースをさらに含む請求項21に記載のカテーテル・システム。
- 少なくとも1つの前記ステント・セグメントが前記シース内部に維持されている状態で少なくとも1つの前記ステント・セグメントが前記シースの外側に配置可能である請求項22に記載のカテーテル・システム。
- 前記シースの外側の前記ステント・セグメントは、前記拡張部材がそれに拡張力を印加するまで、前記押し縮められた形状に維持される請求項23に記載のカテーテル・システム。
- 前記作動部材は、ステント・セグメントのユーザ選択可能な数に作用して、前記ステント・セグメントのユーザ選択可能な数の前記拘束構造を開放するように構成される請求項20に記載のカテーテル・システム。
- 前記ステント・セグメントに抗して、末端に力を及ぼすように構成された、プッシャをさらに含む請求項20に記載のカテーテル・システム。
- 前記拡張部材がバルーンを含み、前記カテーテル・システムが前記バルーンと流体で接続された、膨張内腔をさらに含む請求項21に記載のカテーテル・システム。

- 前記レセプタクルが、前記押し縮められた形状において前記ヘッドと開放可能に係合するように構成されたバンプを含む請求項29に記載のカテーテル・システム。

- 各々のステント・セグメントが、交互配置部材を有し、前記交互配置部材は、少なくとも前記押し縮められた形状においては、隣接するステント・セグメントの交互配置部材と軸方向に交互に配置される請求項20に記載のカテーテル・システム。
- 前記交互に配置される部材が、前記拡張された形状において、軸方向に交互に配置される請求項20に記載のカテーテル・システム。
- 前記拘束構造が、フック、ループ、鉤、結び、小穴、壊れやすい素子から選択される構造を含む請求項20に記載のカテーテル・システム。

- 人体の内腔でステントを展開させる方法であって、
作動部材と、押し縮められた形状で複数の自己拡張型ステント・セグメントを搬送するキャリア・シャフトとを有する移送カテーテルを人体内腔に配置するステップと、
前記カテーテルにより拡張から拘束されず、前記押し縮められた形状に維持された、展開のための前記ステント・セグメントの少なくとも2つを選択するステップと、
前記少なくとも2つのステント・セグメントの拘束構造を開放するために、前記作動部材を作動するステップとを含み、
前記拘束構造の開放に際して、前記人体内腔において前記ステント・セグメントが、拡張された形状に自己拡張する、方法。 - 各々のステント・セグメントが、前記拡張された形状においては他のステント・セグメントと接続されていない請求項49に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1つの前記ステント・セグメントを前記キャリア・シャフトに保持して前記少なくとも2つのステント・セグメントを拡張させるステップをさらに含む請求項49に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも2つのステント・セグメントの選択が、目標の病変の長さに基づいて、展開する所望の数のステント・セグメントを選択することを含み、かつ前記作動部材の作動は、前記所望の数のステント・セグメントの前記拘束構造を開放することを含む請求項49に記載の方法。
- 前記作動部材が、前記拘束構造を開放するために、前記ステント・セグメントを部分的に拡張する請求項49に記載の方法。
- 前記作動部材が、前記ステント・セグメント内部で拡張可能な拡張可能部材を含む請求項53に記載の方法。
- 前記作動部材が、前記ステント・セグメントの内部を通ってスライド可能なカム・ヘッドを含む請求項54に記載の方法。

- 前記被覆が、流体に触れた時に溶解可能である請求項59に記載の方法。

- 前記複数のステント・セグメントが、少なくとも約100mmの組み合わせた長さを有する請求項49に記載の方法。
- 前記複数のステント・セグメントが、前記押し縮められた形状においては相互に接続され、拡張された時には接続されない請求項49に記載の方法。
- 前記人体の内腔が、冠状動脈、大腿動脈、膝窩動脈、頸骨動脈、腸骨動脈、腎臓、鎖骨下動脈もしくは頸動脈、または静脈移植片を含む請求項49に記載の方法。
