Abstract
825,336. Chain wheels. JUY, L. C. H. March 4, 1958 [March 5, 1957], No. 6990/58. Class 80 (1). [Also in Group XXXIV] In a sprocket wheel, particularly for a bicycle change-speed gear, the arcuate recesses 2 between the teeth are bevelled at 4 on both sides of the wheel in order to support the chain when the latter is in a plane inclined to that of the wheel. The bevel may be flat, or arcuate in section. As shown, the wheel has an annular groove 7 in each face to receive the flange of a dust-excluding cap 8, 9 for the wheel-bearing ring 10.
