Abstract
An aluminium alloy contains 0,1-3 per cent of magnesium, 0,4-3 per cent of lead, and 4-10 per cent of copper with or without any of the following: C,1-15 per cent of zinc, up to 2,5 per cent of silicon, a total of 0,1-5 per cent of one or more of the metals manganese, chromium, nickel, and iron, and a total of 0,1-3 per cent of one or more of the metals arsenic, antimony, bismuth, cadmium, and tin. The alloys may be subjected to a precipitation hardening treatment comprising heating, quenching, and ageing.
