Abstract
1531004 Micrometer CENTURY WHEELS RESEARCH CORP 23 Oct 1975 43676/75 Addition to 1412073 Heading G1M [Also in Division F2] The subject-matter is largely the same as Parent Specification but the spindle 66, Fig. 2 is of a material such as steel having a Rockwell C hardness of 40-60 and is chromium plated, whilst the control nut 250 and second nut 256 can be of diecast zinc or zinc alloy with threads formed by a striking die which when compressed against the threads of spindle 66 are formed into very tight controlled lap threads. The nuts may be put into a dichromate bath to eliminate oxidation and could also be made of bronze, brass, aluminium or sintered copper. The nuts are positioned at a set distance from the anvil 106 by being positioned against inner casing 98.
