Abstract

136,681. Peacock, H. E., and Parkes, W. Jan. 13, 1919. Multiple-acting piston pumps; stroke, varying. -In hydraulic transmission mechanism comprising a pump with variable output and a motor, stationary radial pump cylinders A, Fig. 1, are disposed around the rotating shaft E, the pump pistons being driven from an adjustable-stroke eccentric F, and the shaft constituting or carrying the distributing valve. The eccentric is provided with an elongated slot taking over flats on the shaft, and is adjusted by moving a plunger E<4>, between which and the end of a rod F<4>, fixed to the eccentric, a quantity of oil or other fluid is confined. Levers C pivoted at C<2> and having rollers C<4> engaging the eccentric operate the pistons and may have extensions C<2> to operate the pistons of a second set of pump cylinders and to engage a second eccentric F<2>.
