Abstract
1366134 Transformers VICTOR PRODUCTS (WALLSEND) Ltd 25 Jan 1972 [25 Jan 1971] 3095/71 Heading HIT [Also in Division H2] A transformer 2 comprises a primary winding 5 mounted on a core portion 3 and a secondary winding 7 mounted on a core portion 4. The core portions are mounted in respective housings 6, 8 held together by clamps 10. A load is connected to the secondary winding via a cable 9 and to enable an operation to be carried out in safety on the load, the two portions of the transformer are separable. In Fig. 2, the primary winding 13 is contained within a cylindrical core 12 and the secondary winding 15 is mounted on a core 14. On removal of the secondary winding, a magnetic plug 17, which may be spring biased into position, is inserted in the core 12 to increase the impedance of the primary circuit. The core 12 may comprise two spaced apart U-shaped members and the core 14 may be an I-shaped member, all of the members being laminated.
