Heading B8R A device for feeding one or more webs to a work station (e.g. a cutting or stamping station) comprises a frame 17 mounted on moving means, e.g. castors 10 and provided with support members 15 for holding a series of web rolls 16. Guide rollers 14 are arranged to permit the web from each roll to be led along passageways 47 between the rows of rolls and on to horizontal conveyer belt 28. Fig. 2 shows rollers 31 arranged to draw the individual webs from the rolls and press them on to run 28 b of belt 28 assisted by guide plates 21. Rollers 31 may be moved to their operative position (left in Fig. 2), by hand lever 39 and in this position are driven by a knurled roller 33 which engages the upper surface of run 28b of the driven conveyer belt 28. In their inoperative position (right in Fig. 2) the rollers 31 clamp the leading edge of a web 30<SP>1</SP> against the curved portion of plates 21. One web or a plurality of selected superposed webs may be passed from conveyer 28 on to a further belt 4 where the web or webs may be backed with paper from a roll 8 and combined with a cutting template from roll 9. Lengths of web, which may be textile material, are measured by a device 40 and passed to cutting station 1. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown) the conveyer belt 28 is provided at the base of the frame and below the rolls. The rolls are supported on axles 18, Figs. 5 and 6, rotatably carried by carriages 43 to permit movement of the axles in the axial direction thereof. The carriages are provided with wheels 44, 45 and 46 running on rails 48. To remove a roll from the frame, member 15<SP>1</SP> which normally supports one extremity of the axle is pivoted to an inoperative position (shown dotted in Fig. 5) and the axle moved out of the frame (to the right as shown) on the carriage. Core 57 is then removed permitting sleeve 58 and the roll 16 to be withdrawn from the axle.
