Abstract
116,485. Butterfield, C. March 23, 1918. Pusher feeds for single sheets; sheet-registering devices.-Single sheets are placed on a feed table to side stops at an angle to the centre line and are moved forward to front stops by spring pushers moving in a direction parallel to the centre line. As shown, the side stops 4, 5 are adjustably mounted by means of a slotted bracket 6, at an angle to the centre line of the table 1, and the sheet a is placed in shewed position against the stops 4, 5, or at least against the stop 4. The sheet is then squared and pushed up to the stops 3 by spring yielding pushers 9 on brackets 10 adjustable on a bar 13 carried by a reciprocating bur 14 under the table. The pushers 9 are held yieldingly in the forward position by levers 11 and adjustable springs 12, and they extend down through openings 18 in plates 17 projecting forwardly from the brackets 10. Plates 7 project from the stops 4, 5, the sheet being placed on these and on the plates 17. Flanges 8 may be provided on the stops 4, 5, to prevent the edge of the sheet from rising.
