Abstract
1,026,485. Semi-conductor devices. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. Feb. 27, 1963 [March 15, 1962], No. 7953/63. Heading H1K. In a semi-conductor device the signal output contacts are located on extensions of the semi-conductor body extending close to one another to reduce unwanted thermo-E.M.F.s. As shown, Fig. 3, the semiconductor plate 32 of a Hall generator has side arms 37, 38 to which the secondary electrodes 35, 36 are attached. The semi-conductor device may be a magnetoresistor 42 instead of a Hall plate, Fig. 4 (not shown), and the contact regions of the side arms 55, 56 may be extended and the contact end of the device mounted in a slot in a copper block 58 to maintain the two contact points at the same temperature, Fig. 5 (not shown). Thermally conductive oil may be used instead of the copper block. Indium antimonide is mentioned as a known semi-conductor material used in magnetoelectric devices.
