10. A method for enabling support of adaptive multimedia message reception, comprising the steps of:
A. a mobile phone terminal supporting automatic configuration of a multimedia message service receives multimedia message notification information;
B. the mobile phone terminal checks whether the sender address or number of the multimedia message is in the phone book record, if yes, step C is executed, if not, the user is prompted to have a new multimedia message, and step D is executed;
C. if the data network plan configured by the user is to receive the multimedia messages only by using the third-party data network, extracting the multimedia messages one by one according to the received notification information when the availability of the third-party data network is monitored; if the data network plan configured by the user is to preferentially select the third-party data network, if the third-party data network is available, the multimedia message is extracted by using the third-party data network, and if the third-party data network is unavailable, the multimedia message is extracted by using the mobile communication data network;
D. presenting and storing the received message.
