Abstract

Se describen compuestos muy bromados en estado sólido tales como retardantes de flama bromados sólidos con contenido de bromo de por lo menos aproximadamente 60% en peso, que frecuentemente contienen bromo bloqueado. Debido a su alto contenido de bromo, tales compuestos tienen una solubilidad relativamente baja en solventes orgánicos comunes. A pesar de esta solubilidad baja, el contenido de bromo bloqueado en tales compuestos bromados sólidos es reducido con eficacia agitando una suspensión agitada concentrada del compuesto en un solvente inerte a una temperatura conveniente durante por lo menos aproximadamente 1 hora. Después de lo anterior, los sólidos con contenido reducido de bromo bloqueado se aíslan o recuperan de la suspensión. También se proporcionan los nuevos productos que tienen un contenido de bromo bloqueado sustancialmente reducido o eliminado y otras características muy deseables.
