1 month, 2 weeks - Capcom was on its knees after Resident Evil 6, now Monster Hunter Wilds cements its golden era, here's how it did it. With Monster Hunter Wilds breaking records on Steam and the Resident Evil game series more popular than ever thanks to RE Village and a handful of stellar remakes such as Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 2, it’s almost as if Capcom is incapable of failure. But that wasn’t always the case. Less than a decade ago, after a string of critical and commercial flops, Capcom had lost its way and its audience.It was suffering from an identity crisis. Resident Evil, which established the survival horror genre, had lost its bite after RE4. Street Fighter was on the ropes after the poorly-received launch of Street Fighter 5. It could easily have been the critical end of Capcom and its much-loved video games. But a change in the way Capcom made its games, supported by a powerful new game engine, gave these much-loved games series a new lease of life. This kickstarted years of critical and financial success that catapulted Capcom back into the big league.

1 year, 4 months - In today's Daily Fix:Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 5 is out and it's huge—you'll need over 100GB of free space just to install it (but don't worry, once the update is complete it only takes an extra 30GB of space on top of the base game). It adds a playable epilogue and 3,589 lines of dialogue, along with a new Custom Mode and other features and fixes. In other news, new games are being added to Game Pass in December, including Remnant and Remnant 2 (and we loved Remnant 2). And finally, Resident Evil 4 is coming to PSVR2 next week. Finally, something to play on that very cool but very expensive headset.
