Planning on adding a flake-compat mode to my config, and I want a way to work with it. --non-flake should work - i'll just have it use the CONFIG_DIRECTORY variable (or whatever I called it). Not perfect, but I don't want to add another var or deprecate any right now. That's for another issue.
