.dotfiles

My personal configuration for Gnome, Alacritty, Zsh, Tmux, Neovim, and other software.

There are two branches in this repo:

  • linux: the default branch, based on Arch Linux, which I use on my personal computer (btw);
  • darwin: the branch for MacOS, which I use at work. I try to keep the two in sync, even though there might be differences, especially when I'm experimenting with things. Right now, the linux branch is the most up to date.

You might not like my choices in both software and configs, so just explore and pick what you like. The Neovim config is well organized and can be a good starting point to create an IDE-like experience.

Installation

Run the packages.sh script to check for installed packages and get information on how to install the missing ones. This assumes an Arch setup with with pacman and yay. Some things in the package list are actually needed for these dotfiles to fully work, while others are just there because it's software I normally use. When all packages are installeed, a post install script will be ran which further sets some things up.

The last step after installing the required software is to symlink the dotfiles of each program to the place where they should be. To do so, simply run stow <dir> where dir is the software you want to configure, for example stow nvim.
