Galamo v0.0.8 Release Announcement

We are pleased to announce the release of Galamo version 0.0.8, which introduces three new modules that significantly enhance the package’s capabilities in astronomical data analysis and image processing.

New Modules Introduced

galaxy_morph

Provides a comprehensive set of tools for the morphological classification and structural analysis of galaxies, supporting both quantitative assessment and visual diagnostics.

bpt

Implements the Baldwin–Phillips–Terlevich (BPT) diagnostic method, enabling the classification of emission-line galaxies into star-forming, active galactic nuclei (AGN), and composite categories based on emission line ratios.

psr

Introduces low-light image enhancement functionality, aimed at improving the clarity and interpretability of astronomical images captured under low-signal or poor lighting conditions.
