6 colors per channel is also know commonly as 16bit colors, it's pretty decent and all that most GPUs supported at the time. Edit: I'm being a bit inaccurate here, but they are close and possibly related. |

Implements palette video output support.
If the VBE does not support 8-bit DAC, falls back to 6 colors per channel, which actually looks pretty good in Diablo (I can't even tell the difference).
