FY26 Community Project Funding

I am accepting applications for Community Project Funding to support specific, worthwhile projects in Rhode Island’s First Congressional District. While the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 Community Project Funding process is ongoing, I am opening applications for FY26 projects to provide organizations with sufficient time to complete their applications should the Republican House Appropriations Committee choose to accept FY26 projects. Project requirements may change at the discretion of the Republican House Appropriations Committee, including the potential cancellation of Community Project Funding.

For FY 24, I successfully secured $20,075,769 for all fifteen projects Congressman David Cicilline submitted to the Appropriations Committee. A full list of FY24 projects can be found HERE and a full list of FY25 projects I submitted can be found HERE.

For FY26, Rhode Island state government entities, municipalities, local government entities, and 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, can follow the process below to submit an application for Community Project Funding to our office. For-profit entities are not eligible for Community Project Funding. Projects must be located in Rhode Island’s First Congressional District.

The deadline to submit a Community Project Funding request to our office for FY26 is 5:00pm on Friday, March 21, 2025.

Only projects with demonstrated community support will be considered. Funding is for FY26 only. Federal programs may require a state or local match or cost-share for projects, which the House Appropriations Committee cannot waive.

Project requirements may change at the discretion of the Republican House Appropriations Committee, including the cancellation of Community Project Funding entirely.

I anticipate that our office will receive far more requests for funding than can be fulfilled. I expect Members of Congress can only submit fifteen requests in total across all eligible Community Project Funding accounts within the annual federal Appropriations legislation. Please know that I cannot guarantee what will be funded and at what level because final determination on funding is made by the Republican House Appropriations Committee.

We are here to help you identify other potential federal funding opportunities where available. Please reach out to my District Office to discuss your projects should funding not be made available through this year’s appropriations process.
