it seems stupid but i actually think this is kind of important. it’s not a common issue but i still see it pretty regularly. it KILLS me when people complain about art of ray (mercening’s art shown on the right) being “too white” when g’s art of him (left) is literally like the whitest looking man you’ll ever see. in real life he obviously has non-white features, but a lot of those will be lost in simplified art. some of them still remain though (hair texture, wider nose, etc.)!!!

not to mention that he has pretty much always been just as pale as the rest of the band (as shown below). he has a different skin tone and different undertones but he has never been significantly darker than the rest of mcr, and the fact that people seem to give him features that he doesn’t even have almost feels like a caricature. like “this is what we THINK a latino man SHOULD look like.”

it’s not better representation to try and force a pale latino man to have darker skin in order to look “less white” or whatever. he isn’t white. we know that. he isn’t less latino because he’s pale. you don’t have to lie about what he looks like for his identity to be “real” or something. that’s just what he looks like.
