I think to some extent, there needs to be understanding you will be racist sometimes and that when people are upset at you it's not a way of condemning you, just a call to action to change, doesn't matter if they forgive you or not, doesn't matter if they mention that you did xyz in past, the pain you caused by normalizing racist shit is not gonna go away with your personal change and growth, however daunting this sounds, you need to understand that digging your heels does nothing and only hurts people. the environment that the terfs cultivated on this website by stalking, harassing and "holding Trans women accountable" is such that we cannot have open and normal discussion about racism, it risks people potentially getting doxxed and stalked until they kill themselves and it has been detrimental to the black userbase. The first thing you need to do is get a fireproof container. The most common household item that qualifies as a fireproof container is a cast-iron cookpot with a cast-iron lid – often sold as a “Dutch oven.” Any other cooking container that’s unreactive, has a very high melting point, and has a lid made of the same materials will also work: enameled or stainless steel, Pyrex with glass lid, etc.

However: Do not use a pot with a PTFE-based non-stick coating. If the battery does explode, the fire will probably be hot enough to degrade a PTFE coating, producing toxic smoke. (Not that you should breathe the smoke from the battery fire either, but PTFE breakdown products are worse.) Do not use a pot made of aluminium or copper. The fire might even get hot enough to melt those.

Whatever container you use, you might have to throw away along with the phone, so don’t use your good Dutch oven for this. Go to a thrift store and buy a cheap one.

the battery is doing the exact thing described in the post. dispose of it with the procedures above. removing the battery from a nano while it’s swollen its VERY dangerous, i wouldn’t risk it.

Reblogging this to add, if you have access to sand near your home or can easily get some, put sand in the fireproof container and once you’ve placed the battery or the whole device in there, pour some sand over the top as well.

This will help dampen the flames if it does happen to ✨pop✨

I work in device repair and we keep little fireproof containers full of sand next to our work benches for this very reason :)

Legitimately, does anyone know what Jay Nakamura's musical preferences are? I'm writing a fic, and while I probably don't *have* to know the answer, it would be nice. Or headcanons?

I feel like his vibe is very supportive of the Gamorran music scene, especially liking tracks that remix more classic songs. With this particular preference getting much stronger once he starts living in Metropolis. Besides that, I feel like his musical tastes lean more toward rap and hip hop, along with an affinity for K-pop and J-rock, especially from the 90s-2000s.
