from today's entry:

the lack of mental health/illness/disorder flags in the mogai community outside of cluster b, delusional & mood disorders is because nobody cares enough to de-stigmatise things they don't personally go through/can't feed off of.

you cannot parade around your acceptance of all people if you cringe and/or take a step back at eating disorder flags (especially anorexia) and try to claim they're inherently anti-recovery. you are repeating the same rhetoric you brag about escaping from because it doesn't suit your needs, you are just picking and choosing based on what benefits you and what doesn't.

it directly ties in to the plague of note farming and i'm sick of pretending otherwise. cluster b terms & themed flags (especially b/npd) will be showered with notes and suddenly a coiner's blog — despite said coiner not having b/npd — will be full of the near exact same non-requested flags because it garners them more attention. the reason i bring up the fact the coiners don't have these disorders is not to shame — no no, i fully believe anyone can coin terms for any disorder even if they don't have it — but because i've seen the exact same blogs post a response to a request for something outside of the listed few and they'll be along the lines of "well um i actually don't have this disorder so i don't think i can do this."

so what's the difference? you can coin for some disorders but not others? for complex terms where you'd need an understanding of the disorder i would understand but for themed flags? what's stopping you? you're broadcasting your hypocrisy for all to see and nobody will call you out on it because nobody cares about disorders they haven't yet de-stigmatised in their heads. even this excuse likely comes from a place of stigma, because why can't you just say 'no' and have that be the end of it? why come up with a blatant lie like that? what the fuck is the point?

going back to anorexia here because i explicitly understand why ana has basically zero flags attached to it: you can dismantle the disinformation you've had fed to you about cluster b disorders because a friend of yours has one, but when it comes to ana you don't want to touch it not because you "don't have it" but because of the public perception of the ana community and those associated with it. that is all this boils down to.

you have no respect nor empathy for those with disorders still viewed as stigmatised within this community unless it actively benefits you or someone close to you and you will cower behind white lies in an effort to avoid backlash.

"it's not that deep" it is that deep. it's always been that deep. this community has always — despite a lot of people claiming it to be The Woke Community™ — had deep-rooted issues with people expressing themselves when it doesn't align with their idea of Good™. just because it's in an overall more accepting community doesn't mean it's better or less harmful than when other communities do it.

and don't even start with "well what if they just don't want to make the flags 🥺" you know that's not what this fucking post is about and you're proving my point
