Like I'm thinking that Commander Amazon Prime is tasked by Hackett to investigate whether or not the Batarians have anything to do with this Saren guy, on the logic that even though Elanos Haliat was the face of the Skyllian Blitz, the attack on Elysium was covertly funded by the Batarian Hegemony itself. The way I figure it, if you establish that the attack on Eden Prime has already happened, you can easily do a lore dump to catch people up in the form of a briefing because that's literally what the Alliance would be doing anyway.

Then Commander Amazon Prime can go on an adventure that confirms everything that Shepard learns in the games, introducing it to a TV audience but also establishing that Hackett & Anderson have good reason to believe that Shepard isn't crazy.

Honestly there's some room here for some A-Grade promotional fuckery here because you could announce that Mark Meer is coming to the show to reprise his role from Mass Effect and then later on you can reveal that he's voicing the Hanar.

female characters are always lighter than male characters. strong characters are almost always dark. aggressive characters are almost always dark. peaceful and intelligent characters are almost always light. even amongst darker characters the lightest one is usually either the leader or the girls. dark is evil and light is good.

briefly pursuing a career in animation radicalized me on this. So many stories from the industry about how you have to start with your character design as dark as possible, because INEVITABLY you'll get "notes" from higher-ups asking you to make them lighter.

In a class about making a pitch bible my teacher once role-played as a shitty executive with a classmate, pressing them in intentionally abrasive ways about why they made their characters diverse. He emphasized that we had to learn to defend these things, because the racism in the industry is extremely deliberate.
