James has a secret stash of bubble wrap hidden in the house
“…James?”
He turned around to face his wife(he still can’t believe he gets to call her that officially now), “Yes, Lilyflower?”
In her hands, she held up a box stuffed with bubble wrap, “Is there a reason we’re keeping this? Wasn’t this supposed to be tossed out with the other boxes?”
Oh, sweet Merlin, he was going to be laughed at for this, “Uhm, no. Actually, it’s sort of my…stash.”
“James, why do you make it sound like you’re hiding drugs?”
“I-I’m not!,” He stuttered out, nervously scratching the back of his neck, “I sometimes take out a sheet of bubble wrap, just to pop a few of them, and then I put it back in the box.”
“Alright,” Lily shrugged and turned back the way she came, “Do you want me to put it back where I found it then?”
James, utterly shocked but nonetheless delighted that he wasn’t currently being met with a fit of laughter, smiled hesitantly, “Yeah, uhm, thanks.”
She nodded, closed up the box gently, and began to walk towards a closet door in the hallway, but James stopped her with a curious glance, “What is it?”
“You don’t think it’s weird, or…I don’t know?”
“James, darling,” Lily replied softly, “I wouldn’t have married you if I didn’t love all your little quirks. I don’t mind as long as any of our future children don’t get into it. Choking risk and all that.”
Merlin, he loved this woman with his entire soul, “I love you.”
“And I you, dear.”
James smiled mischievously, “Was that a pun I heard, Mrs. Potter?”
“You wish!,” Lily stuck her tongue out childishly and walked out of the room, still being careful as not to squish the box.
