okay i know we all talk about “regulus is scared that everyone will leave him, that’s why he struggles to actually let people in” but what if i say james expects it.

what if i say james expects people to leave and that’s why he tries hard. and when they go he isn’t surprised. he smiles at them, waves goodbye, and has a breakdown in the bathroom because he saw this coming a mile away and still gave his all. you can’t stop the car from crashing, even if it happens in slow motion.

remus and regulus would have “therapy days” together, away from the drama of their respective boyfriends, but by about midday james and sirius were already calling to let them know that their flat was on fire.
