Historically speaking, if a sitting US president were to die it is most likely to happen early in a term, usually within a year of them being sworn in. Doesn't even have to be their first. Lincoln, McKinley, and FDR all died within weeks or months of starting new terms.

Leonid Brezhnev, who was leader of the Soviet Union for 18 years, suffered from severe ill health in the last decade of life that was covered up as much as possible because he wanted to hold onto power and many feared a power struggle to replace him. After being a heavy smoker for most of his life he became an excessive drinker addicted to sleeping pills and tranquilizers. He suffered from insomnia, severe arteriosclerosis, gout, leukaemia and emphysema from decades of smoking, as well as chronic bronchitis. He began to walk shakily and fumbled his words due to memory loss, speaking problems and had difficulties with coordination. His central nervous system underwent chronic deterioration and he had several minor strokes and heart attacks. Reportedly, the Ministry of Health kept a team of doctors by his side at all times, and he was brought back from near death on several occasions. He finally died in 1982 at the age of 75.

You're likely to hear more and more stories like this about a certain US president.

If the orange turd had died I do think his inner circle would try to cover it up for as long as possible, but it would quickly be leaked, likely by Vance so he could become president right away. However, if he's suffered a massive stroke or any ailment that would prevent him for performing his duties then invoke section 4 of the 25th amendment, for that the VP needs a majority of cabinet to agree that the president is incapable of performing their duties, if that happens then the VP becomes acting president and all presidential authority transfers to him, but the president still holds office, they just have no powers. The president can regain their powers by writing to congress and stating they are able to perform their duties, but if the VP and majority of cabinet disagree it goes to congress and they've got 21 days to decide if the president is capable or not. Two thirds of both houses need to vote to support the VP in order for them to remain acting president, if that doesn't happen then the president regains their powers after 21 days. The cabinet is full of spineless cronies so many will fear being seen as disloyal if they do anything to strip glorious leader of power, and because he is a vindictive shit that would punish them for such. So the US could soon find itself in a place where it has no clear leader, which might be the better option for most people.

“Sanders is doing better than Obama did at this point”

The new lie that Bernie Sanders supporters are telling themselves. Clinton and Obama were never more than 100+ delegates apart back in 2008. Clinton is currently leading Sanders by over 300 delegates and that’s not including superdelegates. If he is to beat her he needs to win 60% of the remaining delegates. Not impossible, but extremely difficult at this point.

After last night’s results Hillary Clinton is well on her way to being the Democratic nominee. She beat Bernie Sanders in all five states that voted yesterday, including crucial swing states like Florida and Ohio. Unless Sanders can score major wins in big states (narrow victories just aren’t going to cut it) he is unlikely to snatch the nomination away from Clinton.

Meanwhile, Trump looks set to be the Republican nominee so better start building that fallout shelter.
