The word Medium......🤮 I can't use it. I cannot get it out of my mouth. At Itsavirus we use to work with naming our engineers like so many other companies do; junior, medior, senior, expert.... But the whole idea that we have "medior" people does not fit with my beliefs... at all. ➡️ First of all; people can never be 'medior'. We are all valuable in our own right. Calling people 'medior' sucks. ➡️ Secondly; I don't allow for any form of mediocracy in our company. It has no place at Itsavirus. We strive for the best. Any reference to 'medium' is just simply wrong. In my opinion engineers at Itsavirus are either skilled professionals that simply deliver or they are in the learning phase. And yes, also our skilled professionals keep on learning! This is one of the many reasons we have implemented IC levels. Below a rough description of how this works: 🐣 IC1 (Entry-Level): These team members are in the learning phase, focusing on growth and skill development. 🐥 IC2 (Proficient Professionals): Fully independent contributors who manage tasks autonomously, consistently delivering quality results. File under "#theydidthemath" - There's little to nothing to add to this excellent analysis of salary ranges that any hiring manager should read. The numbers are Dutch, and seem low therefore because the Dutch get fiddly things like 'real health care' and 'functioning governance', but the overall model is a beautiful explanation of why salary ranges can be puzzling. Of especial use when you're hiring outside of a market you know really well, to help you make good judgments about where local talent sits.

Rogier suggested that as a Chief Product Officer (CPO), dedicating a few hours each week to deep Product work can be incredibly beneficial. Imagine tackling the most pressing challenges alongside your team, keeping your Product muscles in shape, and staying truly connected to the core of your work! This approach not only strengthens your connection with the Product but also bridges the gap with your teams. Here's how you could bring that down to zero minutes? It starts with PandaDoc. As soon as a document's status is marked 'Awaiting payment', PandaDoc's integrated payment system kicks in. If payment is pending, our automation triggers a notification to your Slack channel and sends a gentle reminder to your client about the pending tasks. Once a document is approved and the payment is confirmed, your Slack channel buzzes again. So you invested your time. Committed. It demands a lot of your creativity. Continuous learning. Keeping up. It’s challenging. And perhaps the constant high pressure is getting to you: - Sacrificing personal time and relationships in favor of work - Decline in health - Too much stress which can lead to burnout - Feeling unmotivated You never signed up for that. And you don’t know what to do about that. You were never taught how to handle tight deadlines and high pressure. In 2006, I was where you were. And I learned how to handle it through various courses and learning specific techniques. Because I was depressed and needed to know how to handle it. You can learn them too because your well-being matters more than any job. So you can keep loving what you do. And continue to make a positive contribution. It's possible to have a sustainable career without burning out.
