Office of Inspector General (OIG)
We are an independent and objective unit within the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) that helps the Agency more effectively and efficiently meet its mission. We bring particularly serious problems, abuses, or deficiencies to the immediate attention of Congress while keeping the Archivist of the United States informed.

Contractor Reporting (FAR)
The Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requires contractors to timely notify the relevant Office of Inspector General (OIG) whenever there is credible evidence to believe that a violation(s) of criminal law and/or the civil False Claims Act have occurred in connection with a Federal contract. If making a report, NARA contractors may use the Hotline contacts listed above.
