🧠💻What can our neurons do? Run a computer, apparently. We hosted a highly engaging session with our founder Esther Wong and Cortical Labs founder Hon Weng Chong. What the company does is ground breaking, think of it as 𝗮 "𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸", instead of embedding chips into the brain, neurons are integrated onto a chip.  Our mammalian brains are incredibly efficient, capable of recognizing patterns, perceiving depth, and responding to threats - all without vast datasets or excessive computational power. While a lot of folks were understandably focused on all sorts of AI applications, we've got a pretty clear take: the real breakthroughs – and where we think the best investments are – are actually happening down in 𝘁𝗵𝗲 #infrastructure 𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸. The modern AI stack has three layers: 𝟭. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴: Teaching AI with huge datasets and getting it to spit out results; 𝟮. 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲: Taking big AI jobs and breaking them into smaller tasks, and scaling resources up or down as needed; 𝟯. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗢𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Managing and coordinating all those AI processes smoothly. We believe that 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝟭 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟮. Companies like Roblox and Uber for example, are already seeing performance jump by up to 3x thanks to advancements right here. And they're just a few of many. What we are seeing:  ⚡️𝗜𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝟭 (𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴), disruptors like Cerebras Systems, Groq, Meta’s PyTorch, and Berkeley VLLM are totally changing how AI gets trained. 🌐 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲 (𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝟮), leaders such as Anyscale, Databricks and Runpod are making things way more scalable. 🚀 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝟯), platforms like Replicate and Baseten are making those AI pipelines way smoother for faster adoption. These companies, while less visible to the public, are integral to the very fabric of AI. We also believe these "𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀" are where a lot of true value lies. If there is one certainty about the stock market, it’s that it is never dull. Previous crisises since the beginning of this century have their unique challenges, but they also demonstrate 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. The energy at HumanX 2025 in Las Vegas was truly electric. As the name suggests, this conference places the 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜, where the focus is not just on what the technology can do, but on how it can enrich lives, augment human capabilities, and address critical societal needs.
