INHOPE is the leading global network of 57 hotlines in 52 countries combatting online Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)
About us
INHOPE is the leading global network combatting online Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). The Network consists of 57 hotlines in 52 countries (as of January 2025) that provide the public with a way to anonymously report illegal content online with a focus on CSAM. Reports are reviewed by content analysts who classify the illegality of the material, which is then shared with local Law Enforcement Agencies and a notice and takedown order is sent to the relevant Hosting Provider. We support hotlines and their partner organisations through training, setting high quality standards and best practices for hotline operations, and ensuring staff welfare. We provide the hotline network with a secure platform called ICCAM that facilitates the exchange of CSAM reports between hotlines and INTERPOL. INHOPE promotes legislative and policy developments that support our vision of an internet free from CSAM. INHOPE is based in the Netherlands and our member hotlines operate across six continents: Africa, Asia, Australia/Oceania, Europe, North and South America. In a borderless digital world CSAM has global consequences and as its distribution grows so do our efforts. This is only possible with the support and funding from the European Commission, Safe Online and INHOPE’s corporate partners. Join us in the fight!

Save the Children Italia continues to enhance its fight against online child abuse with key updates to the STOP-IT platform. From 1 June 2025, STOP-IT adopted ICCAM URL mode to improve the handling and sharing of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) cases globally, enabling quicker and more effective law enforcement responses. The platform also launched a redesigned website on 1 July 2025. The new site features a clearer layout, dedicated sections for adolescents, and expanded educational content on child sexual abuse material (CSAM) prevention and reporting. Earlier this week, the European Commission published important guidelines on protecting minors under the Digital Services Act (DSA) Article 28, marking a major step forward for child online safety. 🔗https://ow.ly/gpkQ50Wr2xM Key highlights include: ✅ Setting minors’ accounts to private by default to reduce unsolicited contact ✅ Prohibiting the download or screenshotting of children’s content to prevent unwanted sharing of sexualised images ✅ Empowering children to block or mute users and ensuring they cannot be added to groups without explicit consent ✅ Strengthening reporting tools to ensure they are age appropriate, easy to use and lead to meaningful outcomes The guidelines also call on platforms to signpost minors to trusted reporting channels, explicitly naming INHOPE hotlines as a key support mechanism for children who encounter illegal content or harmful online experiences. We welcome this strong recognition of INHOPE hotlines as a trusted safety resource, and thank the European Commission for advancing child online safety through these essential guidelines.

In the final INHOPE Expert Insights webinar of the season, Henry Adams, from Resolver Trust & Safety, and Megan Gonzales, CAMS and Sally Frank from Block explored the growing role of financial intelligence in tackling financially motivated child sexual abuse and exploitation. Key takeaways from the session: 🔹Financial transactions are increasingly linked to organised child sexual abuse material (CSAM) activity 🔹Gaps in communication between sectors limit the impact of financial intelligence 🔹Law enforcement often lacks training or access to use financial data effectively 🔹Collaboration through initiatives like Project Lantern (Tech Coalition) helps close cross-sector gaps 🔹A more unified approach is needed to turn financial insights into concrete action Read the full recap for more insights 🔗https://ow.ly/SawV50WpJQh This was the last webinar of this season.
