  • 🌞 "Celebrating Summer with the Amazon Games Bucharest Team! We took a moment to appreciate our amazing team with a special summer gathering. We found the perfect spot - a beautiful public park with a cultural atmosphere that perfectly reflects our studio's creative spirit. Great conversations flowed as easily as the refreshments, while we enjoyed some delicious BBQ in the park's vibrant setting. There's something magical about combining team bonding with the outdoors - complete with good music, friendly pets, and natural surroundings! 🎮 While game development presents its challenges, it's experiences like these that remind us: making games might be hard, but it's infinitely more rewarding with an incredible team by your side." - Catalin Popa (Studio Operations Manager, Amazon Games Bucharest)

Today marks the 14th Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) and for Holly Wescott, her path to becoming an Accessibility Lead at Amazon Games was anything but typical. From sign language interpretation to a Master's in Global Health to gaming, her unique background brings fresh perspectives to making games more inclusive and enjoyable for all players. "What really draws me to games is their unique potential. They're not just entertainment; they're great tools for connection, education, and expression. I see potential for games to become valuable tools in international development and accessibility advancement. It's exciting to be at the intersection of accessibility, technology, and creative expression. Accessibility in gaming is at a fascinating tipping point. We're moving from an era where accessibility was about addressing specific barriers to one where it's becoming a driver of innovation. The questions we're tackling in games have the potential to shape the future of digital interaction as a whole. This field is constantly evolving. Every new game, every new technology, every piece of player feedback presents fresh challenges and opportunities. We're not just implementing known solutions; we're actively discovering new possibilities for how games can be experienced and enjoyed. Accessibility isn't just about compliance or doing the right thing - though those are important. It's about unlocking the full potential of games as a medium for everyone. When we make games more accessible, we're not just adding features - we're expanding the possibilities of what games can be and who can experience them.” - Holly Learn more: https://accessibility.day/
