The owner was extremely communicative and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are completely updated and renovated but keep the charm of the 14th century castle so its a very unique place to stay. The breakfast was wonderful as well.

Francois and Julien were the most excellent concierge I’ve ever come across. Will stay in Villa Maia again when I go back Lyon just for the concierge team.

Villa Florentine, A Beauvallon Hotel is located in the heart of Old Lyon with panoramic views of the city. This former convent offers elegant guest rooms, a 24-hour reception and free WiFi throughout.... Extraordinary ex 18th century monastery. Beautiful with lots of original features kept in pristine condition. Excellent location overlooking Vieux Lyon (the old town). We had a suite which was in the second building accessed via an underground tunnel. The staff are incredible, super friendly and helpful. Decent breakfast offering cooked as well as continental breakfast.

It's the perfect weekend stay for a couple to really soak in the views of Lyon. I especially loved the kitchen and bathroom areas since they were large and well equipped.

Kerjeanne (=the house of Jeanne) was superb, meticulously clean and the host, Jeanne, was a wonderfully nice and easy person. She prepared us a four course dinner outside, almost entirely composed of specialties of the Lyon region, with of course fabulous red and white wine from the region. Most highly recommended.
