Everyone walks around in their Japanese pjs, no shoes allowed inside and the onsen is wonderful - especially the private one. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There are also icecreams, beef skewers and ramen as treats! We loved our experience

Overlooking picturesque Kawaguchi Lake in the serene Mount Fuji area, Rakuyu boasts comfortable guest rooms and natural hot spring baths. Free Wi-Fi is provided in the public area. Great variety of food for breakfast. Drinks and food at night were excellent and there was no need for dinner.

Featuring great views of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, Konanso boasts natural hot spring baths and large Japanese-style rooms with traditional tatami (woven-straw) flooring. Masaki, who delivered and explained our dinners, was the highlight! He was so friendly and did a great job! Breakfast and dinner were incredibly tasty. You must visit the rooftop foot spa on a clear day, for a spectacular view of Mt Fuji and Kawaguchiko Lake. Convenient location, free shuttle from/to Kawaguchiko station, room and public onsen were incredibly clean, got to enjoy karaoke and I highly recommend the private bath with the view of Mt Fuji.

Exceptional property and well worth what we paid for it. Amazing views from the onsen (public and shared with other hotel guests, but both times we used it there was nobody there. Quite a private experience and it was great to watch the sun set!) The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were delicious and the experience was one we’ll never forget. The staff picked us up at Kawaguchiko station and brought our bags straight to our room after check in. We enjoyed the tea and snack while soaking in the views.10/10 would visit again!

Just 250 metres from Zenko-ji Temple, Matsuya Ryokan offers simple Japanese rooms with tatami-mat floors, a green-tea maker and an attached Western bathroom. The hotel features public baths. The location couldn’t be better just on the main attraction street and a short walk from the museum on one side or the town center on the other. Spacious Traditional room with comfortable futon and great bathroom. There was also a public bath which was lovely at the end of the day to relax. We had one evening meal there and the food was nice. Staff was very kind (even with our turbulent toddler)

Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. The Ryokan is in the city center. The staff is very kind and helpful. The onsen is very nice and relaxing. The rooms are beautiful.

Oyado Koto No Yume, 2 menit dengan berjalan kaki dari Stasiun Takayama, menawarkan kamar-kamar bergaya Jepang dengan sentuhan penuh warna. Location was exceptional - great base for exploring. The staff were all very helpful. We loved their restaurant recommendations and that reservations were made for us. Breakfast was also a positive experience - we tried all three options.

Luxurious ryokan Fuji Onsenji Yumedono is located just 500 metres from Lake Kawaguchiko. All the staff were extremely accommodating and pleasant. The dinner and breakfast were beyond expectations. The heated bathroom flooring was a very nice touch.

Ryokan Hostel K's House bertempat di sebuah bangunan bersejarah terdaftar yang berusia 100 tahun di Shizuoka, sejauh hanya 7 menit berjalan kaki dari Stasiun Kereta JR Ito. This place is magical. One of the highlights of our 3 week Japan trip was staying at Ks. Everyone was friendly, the room was spotless, the communal areas were clean and well kept and the onsens fabulous. We had a family room and all slept very well on tatami mats and futons. We used both the private and public onsens. The room is spacious and the outlook over the stream at night is sensational. We were fortunate to be there when they had a fireworks display on the beach which was awesome.There is also a washing machine and dryer for 500yen which really helped having a family of 5. If you are looking for a traditional stay and a truly memorable experience this is it.
