Located in Chikushino, 500 metres from Buso-ji Temple, Daimaru Besso has a number of amenities including a bar and free WiFi. The room was spacious and comfortable. Food was delicious. Service was relaxed and friendly. The garden is incredible. The hot spring bath was so relaxing and well kept up.

Ohana is located in Yanagawa. Free WiFi access is available. Each room here will provide you with air conditioning and a minibar. This truly is a special place, far exceeding our expectations. It's not just a hotel but a destination, a cultural gem. The historical Great Hall and the Japanese garden are beautiful. In the evening you can sit on the edge of the Great Hall looking out on to the beautifully lit garden that surrounds a small lake. And the hotel provide you with sake and other drinks at no charge to aid a truly memorable experience. Our room was large, spacious, comfortable and clean, with a fabulous view over the garden. Breakfast was traditional Japanese, and of the highest quality. All the staff were courteous, and very helpful. There is an excellent museum right next door to the hotel to which entry is free to hotel guests. So don't miss it or the tour around the historical parts of the hotel. This is probably the most glowing review I have ever given on Booking.com, but it absolutely deserves it.

A beautiful traditional ryokan which is part of a temple. Super friendly staff and amazing breakfast. The bathroom facilities are old but everything is very clean. A traditional tatami room with comfortable futons is prepared for you while you are at dinner.

The space of the room was a wonderful. On two floors with very comfortable beds, bed linen, a beautiful wooden bath, a large tatami matted space to sit, be and eat breakfast. The indigo wall hangings were a delight to have in the space and we booked an incredible workshop held by the artist who created the hanging to learn the process of indigo dyeing. This was very special. The staff were very welcoming, generous and exceptionally helpful with directions, booking activities and dinner reservations. They went above and beyond.
