The staff were extremely helpful and friendly! They helped me securely store my bike and when I first got on the room they brought me a thermos with boiled water so I could have some tea immediately. The onsen itself was small but was pretty empty whenever I went, with good opening hours to suit all lifestyles.

This is a traditional Japanese ryokan with public baths (gender separated). Dinner and breakfast are amazing and plentiful, with locally sourced organic produce (even coffee!). Our room (Japanese room with private toilet) was to the left of the entrance. It was very spacious. The heater worked very well as autumn night was a bit damp and cold. The beds are futons on wood bed frames on tatami, and they are super comfortable. As I have a whole-leg tattoo which is usually not permitted in the public baths, I notified Ranko in advance, and she reserved the private bath for us. The private bath was a very beautiful blue ceramic bath filled with warm (I don’t think it’s very hot) healing hot spring water from the area. Ranko’s warm personality really made the stay memorable. Be sure to ask her for recommendations of the areas. She is a well of knowledge of the area!

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, and ski equipment rentals can be arranged. Everything was amazing: hotel, staff, food, location. Just 10/10!

Featuring free private parking, the 3-star ryokan is 37 km from Sannai-Maruyama site. The ryokan has family rooms. This place is amazing, the staff is lovely, located in walking distance to the casttle,to restaurants and konbinis . There is a private bath, tattoo friendly, free to use. And the price was so cheap. I highly recommend to stay there!
