Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IsraelThe Gold Lagoon is situated in the Amphora Hotel and Resort, with a separate kosher dining room that provides breakfast. The room and the grounds were beautiful, with a gorgeous view of the sea and quick and easy access to it. The infinity pool was a pleasure and was immaculate. Beach beds with umbrellas were set up At perfect locations to enjoy either the pool or the sea. The room was beautiful and quiet with a sweet porch that overlooked the grounds and a view to the sea. Breakfast was simple but filling with enough of an assortment to satisfy both parents and children. They even made fresh Omelettes and fried up halloumi cheese on the spot. All in all a perfect vacation spot - I can’t wait to come back!

CyprusThis hotel doesn't exist. This hotel is amphora hotel and i didn't understand why they used a different name. I booked one room with 2 double beds. Instead of this, my room was 1 double bed and 2 folding beds. The mattress in double bed wasn't comfortable. I saw bath robes in the pictures, but I didn't find them. Once we drank the tea from the room, they didn't replace it. The main door room needs maintenance, there is a gap between door, wall, floor. The room needs more light in the night.
The location is perfect, and the room is big and hot. The breakfast has several selections.

IsraelMore of a selection of food and drinks at the meals. We felt that the staff was very friendly and helpful but it could have been more tasteful and diversified .
Due to the fact that we were the only couple there the first four out of 7 days we were not provided as a five star hotel. The service was good but the food not on standard of five stars.

IsraelFood quality was ok, not excellent. Would have preferred more kid-friendly foods (schnitzel for the Israeli kids), and as a mainly vegan there were good salads and warm vegetables/starches but little else (I did not request special food). The rooms, pool/lawn area, and lobby were all extremely nice; added benefit would have been if there were additional public spaces on the property.
Service was excellent. Pool and lawn area were lovely. Balcony overlooking pool, lawn, sea was beautiful. Food was plentiful.

Israelthe lack of any shade over the pool or adjacent to the sides is inexplicable. it is impossible during the summer heat to spend any reasonable time next to or in the pool. this was a major drawback for us. regarding those jewishly observant travellers looking for a comparable, dietary restrictions notwithstanding, kosher breakfast (compared to the one in the regular dining hall) it is very disappointing. maybe the food is not available in Cyprus, but there was nothing special or exciting about it. (though the omelette was appreciated).
the reviews we read were very mixed and we understand why. there are definitely things which make the hotel very well placed and comfortable. the garden is beautiful and the location is excellent. the rooms are fair quality - though as stated by others a little dark. the staff were very nice.

United StatesThe Gold Lagoon hotel advertised as being kosher. That is why we chose it. For whatever reason, the hotel decided not to have kosher food for the time period we visited, but DID NOT TELL US that the advertised and necessary kosher food would not be served. That is not reasonable, interferes with religious observance and is simply outrageous. In the end, the facility arranged with a different kosher hotel in Paphos to transfer us there. Once the transfer was effected, the stay was very pleasant.
Blue Lagoon hotel was excellent. Food was plentiful and kosher. Room was very nice and people were extremely friendly. On the other hand, the Gold Lagoon was unacceptable, as per my comments below.
