The day reception clerk was exceptionally welcoming, and we appreciated his efforts to make sure we saw the best of what Toronto had going this weekend. Storing our bags for us after checkout was smoothly and happily accommodated.

Smallest double we've ever had. Tiny room. Noisy AC. You couldn't have it on at night. It was a particularly humid night so very sweaty. No lift. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast not available until 9.30.

It was a great location. It was clean. Good atmosphere out of the room. Good shower in the private bathroom. Convenient for main rail station. Whatever you read about what we didn't like, remember you get what you pay for. And it was inexpensive for the location. If breakfast not booked you can still have tea, coffee and toast. Hair dryer in room.

Standard things that was missing was a mini fridge and microwave... most accommodations that have "shared" facilities have options that replace what's missing... like a common area with TV's OR common kitchen area to store bought food... for those with special diets... unfortunately NO options make it

I thought the bathroom was only "shared" with one other room but the bathing bathroom was only ONE per floor... I don't usually eat a breakfast so this topic doesn't apply for me but the Coffee was nice to have complimentary... Location was excellent!

We were able to stay in the budget, standard and deluxe rooms in our stay and there is quite a difference between the lux and basic rooms. Freshly renovated and working windows. I think budget was great for the price and was charming

Very noisy. The jazz bar ends fairly early but there are other nightclubs nearby that are super loud. My room was close to Queen St. maybe that affected it. The room is tiny, but was perfect for one person. The hotel desperately needs to change the gross carpet in the hallways…

Great location! Had breakfast at the adjoining bar/restaurant. Food was good at a great price. Hotel customers get free coffee and toast.

My card got demagnetized a number of times, which was a little annoying.

Right next door to so many quality shops and restaurants, not to mention over the Rex Jazz Bar. Staff were very good about replacing my card whenever it got demagnetized.

I had trouble using the knob in the shower to get hot water. One of the staff will look into the situation. He will no doubt discover if there swas something machanic or just user error.

Didn't have elevator, but we expected it and didn't have any big sized luggage to carry upstairs.

The window couldn't open, (but at least there was AC.) It was slightly dusty in some spots.

The room was a good size for one person. The bed was firm but still comfortable. The shower got nice and warm.

Breakfast beginning at 930. I missed it both days. I also had an unfortunate experience with a member of the wait staff. I bought a pint and asked if I could add a tip. It was $11 and I wanted to pay $14. Instead, they added a $14 tip. I acknowledge that I was not clear enough and that I could have protested. However, she should have asked for clarification.

The room was small but completely comfortable and functional. I could open the window and listen to the music. Loved it!

My room was on the street, so a fair amount of traffic noise. I found it ok, but take care if you want complete quiet.

Very straightforward hotel. Unpretentious but all the essentials were there. Very clean room, effective AC and good shower. Wi-Fi fast with good connection. Really liked the jazz & blues bar - high quality music, friendly venue.

Had not realised there was no lift, but the exercise was good for me! and the staff were very helpful with my suitcase.

Very unique and cool place in the heart of Toronto. Very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms where very basic but clean. The whole house has an artistic spirit and the neighbourhood is nice with many small shops and restaurants. We walked everywhere, even not too far to walk from Unionstation. We travelled with our 3 year old who enjoyed the all ages jam session at the Rex as well as the extra folding matress and his glas of milk for breakfast. Breakfast (coffee and toast) was served in the club or on the terrace. It was also possible to store our luggage on our day of departure. Thank you Rex!
