Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I reserved a private room for July 8 1 month in advance, they sent me a message the same day (July 8) saying that they no longer had space and that I should send my receipt for a return, without giving any further explanations or solution. I sent everything as they asked me, I called many times, I sent messages through Booking and by email and they stopped responding, they never returned anything!! They are scammers, please don't book!!!

TaiwanThe washroom is mad dog transparent glasses without reaching to the ceiling. You can hear and smell everything from there. No hand soap, no toilet paper hanger, broken flush panel. Poor WiFi connection. No locker in the room, no kitchen or drinking water dispenser. Didn’t see fire escape sign.
Location is good, and l had nice roommates.

CanadaCancelled my son’s reservation after receiving my payment. Have not yet received refund (3 weeks later). Never able to reach property by phone. Had to make reservation for son at alternative accommodation. Booking.com customer service did not resolve problem. Met another Palmerston client at the door to building at 6pm. He had not received email with code & check in information & was unable to reach Palmerston staff by phone. He was stuck outside the building with no accommodation after paying. For my 2-day stay: Main problem with accommodation is bathroom effectively inside 6-room dorm. Sounds, smells, etc from inside bathroom are transmitted to dorm room. Inside bathroom, no hooks, no toilet paper holder, no shower stall, just shower head spraying directly into bathroom. Floor wet, toilet paper wet, no hooks, so your things get wet.
