Loved the convenience of calling Uber to pick me up and safely take me to other parts of city. Surprising how much building of luxury housing is going on. Fun restaurants, breweries, wineries and plenty of street food. Genuine, nice, happy, kind locals.Guest review byPricelessUnited States - 8.0
Ensenada is a great place to shop.
Ensenada is a great place to shop. The long street with many shops is full of interesting "finds." Many people speak English, and in some places you can still make a bargain to reduce prices. I was particularly amazed at the number of inviting-looking restaurants.Guest review byJanet - 10.0

Mexicali is a cute dessert town that keeps on growing despite its very hot and dry weather. Originally the lands that saw the crossing of the Cucapah, Cochimi, Kumeyaay, Pai Pai, Kiliwas and others accross the Californias without border. Mexicali has thrived culturally and its people are warm, kind and generous. Despite road infrastructure can be a challenge, it is an active place, unique cuisine that has integrated Chinese gastronomy. Their imput due to migrating waves from the 1800s has made a mark on the landscape of Mexicali. Healthy food and lifestyle continue to elevate Mexicali 'a must' destination holiday. Its Majestic Rumorosa with capricious rock formations makes this place memorable. All around there is something for you, whether you are vegetarian or carnivorous, carne asada is just delicious and la ruta del vino, only 1.20 min away offers a unique experience. You may need a week to experience this place. This place is peaceful but vibrant, safe, friendly and affordable.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
We booked an ATV tour and paint ball.
We booked an ATV tour and paint ball. The next day, we booked a tour of Valle Guadalupe - and toured some wineries. The last two days, we booked massages, and chilled around the pool. It was a perfect getaway!Guest review byNellieUnited States - 6.0
The location was nice. It's more of a Glamping Experience.
The location was nice. It's more of a Glamping Experience. The area felt secure. A few things that were lacking in our room. The TV didn't work. Smoke didn't work/battery was disconnected. We we're supposed to get firewood for the outside fire pits, but didn't get it. We could have used more towels in the bathroom.Guest review byCarlosUnited States - 6.0
San Quintin is growing.
San Quintin is growing. Calimax, plenty of Oxxo's, El Florido.. The Hotel was to far out of San Quintin to enjoy any activities or to enjoy the restaurants. We had business in Vicente Guerreo at the orphanage but we couldn't enjoy our time because of the distance. We ate at the Santa Isabel restaurant which was great. Great Menu and reasonable prices. Tecate is a sleepy border town that has upgraded over the past decades. With its old fashioned plaza and church, fun shops, and great restaurants, it is a great introduction to Mexico. Safe, very friendly, and known for the famous Rancho La Puerta spa.Guest review byKarenUnited States - 8.0

San Felipe is a very typical stop on the way to Baja Sur if traveling on Highway 5 (usually crossing in Mexicali.) The problem with San Felipe is that lodging tends to be very pricy. In the future (I've made this trip twice - I live in Loreto) I will probably cross and stay in Mexicali, then drive to Guerrero Negro the following day, skipping San Felipe. On the other hand, San Felipe is a nice little town and very accessible from southeast California and Arizona. So, if you're camping, it can be a very good and convenient option for a long weekend in Mexico without the issues attending border towns.Guest review byDavidUnited States - 8.0

The host and staff were nice but are intent was to deep sea dive and snorkel we found none of the above so we were stranded in a beach paradises toured the town countless times was entertained at the local market talking with tourist and having beers and the road going in is an asphalt trail 60km takes 1.5 hours if you plan on no flats I meet people who blew two tires coming in real ruff and had to be done in sections at walking speedGuest review byCathyCanada - 8.0
Tijuana rather as I expected - not the premier destination...
Tijuana rather as I expected - not the premier destination of Mexico, but a vibrant, friendly, down-to-earth border city with easy-going people, chill beaches, and easy conversation with locals. I felt at home. Folks kept saying go to Rosarito which has the more touristy beaches. While we opted for Tijuana playas, which may not have been the cleanest or most exciting, we were certainly among locals and the vibes were awesome (which is my style of vacation - I'm not in Mexico to be surrounded by Americans!). We woke up with the sound of the waves right outside our Airbnb, a super cute coffee shop 3 min away by foot and lots of other walkable cafes, restaurants, and taquerias - and best of all, the dolphins enjoying breakfast right out of our window every AM with the sunrise. Feeling like a more touristy destination would have been fun and fancy, but overall less satisfying. My partner and I loved being more central to downtown and of course open to locals' recommendations. Playas de Tijuana has amazing restaurants - can't go wrong pretty much anywhere you eat by the border!Guest review byLukeUnited States
