Traveling to the Town by Hired Taxi from the Hotel was quite interesting as you are able to get a little tour of the place before reaching the Town. Very friendly people. One harsh lesson I learnt was to not buy too much SRD, other than enough to buy gas and snacks on the way to Parimaribo, prior to arriving there. The exchange rate will kill you. I found greater value in using USD at the many chinese stores to get the best exchange rate. Passie was a great eating experience and so was Sushi-Ya, but avoid Raja Ji indian across the road. Coffee Box was also a nice place to grab breakfast and chill. Paramaribo needs a lot of renovation and there are some suspicious characters in some places at night, but that being said, it is a fascinating and unique place and worth seeing. It was a very interesting place with evidence of its multicultural mix of population. Saw lots of Indian and Chinese owned businesses. Didn't see much businesses from other cultures.
