For many years now we have the SILVER AWARD from the UK Government's Green Tourism scheme. We generate some of our own electricity using solar PV; have an EV Car charging point, and are well-insulated and are careful not to waste any energy. We have reduced the waste of single use plastics; and take part in local composting and recycling schemes. We have a fully equipped kitchen for your exclusive use with automatic dishwasher, laundry and drying facilities, tea and coffee making, oven, ceramic hob, microwave, ironing equipment, and cutlery/plates/glasses/mugs etc. for if you have a take-away delivered or want to put together a meal using some food from the local supermarkets to eat here. We have a wonderful dining/sitting room exclusively for our guests, and access to our front garden, with a small seating area. You will be very comfortable at Homelands Apartment.
Nikki is a keen gardener and beekeeper. She also follows the National Hunt (Horse-racing over fences and hurdles) and is a member of the Cheltenham Race Course and several owners clubs.
Erik is a keen cook with a particular interest in home-made charcuterie. He also loves to fire up his traditional Firepit/BBQ using local wood, and is keen on cooking Game and Venison. His other hobby is conservation work in local woodlands as a volunteer - and he is a regular visitor to his local Gym.
Woodmancote and Bishops Cleeve are really one village separated by a lovely steam railway line which runs in season and during holidays. The Lane where Homelands is located has a rural feel with views on farmland pasture, woodland and Cleeve Hill Common, a protected nature and conservation site, where you can go for walks. We have plenty of shops and supermarkets in nearby in Bishops Cleeve (20 Min. walk) and a lovely Pub/Restaurant called 'The Apple Tree' in our village of Woodmancote, which is just a 12Min. walk from Homelands. Several fast-food and delivery services are available so you order food, including breakfast boxes, using one of the many Apps to have food delivered to Homelands. We're in The Cotswolds, and the Cotswolds AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) starts just in front of our house. Very popular local attractions to visit are: Sudeley Castle, Bibury, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden, Hidcote Manor Gardens, Winchcombe, and Gloucester Cathedral. There are many, many more!
