Reception was friendly and helpful. The property is in the middle of town, close to all shops and restaurants but very quiet. The room was very clean and tidy. The picnic basket was a nice touch I've never seen in a room before. We made good use of it.

I stayed here 12 nights and it was well worth the upgrade to a room with a view of Phillip Island. Great place, Paul is very helpful and there's an excellent bottle shop onsite.

The main township on the island.

The main township on the island. Lots of great places to eat or just have a coffee. Be prepared though: as everything needs to come from the mainland by ship, the prices at the grocery market are very dear! My wife tells me that the selection, price and quality of shoes and handbags at the Franks Shoes were extraordinary. Restaurants that we recommend: Salty Beer Garden for an informal bite, The Olive for great coffee, Hilli Restaurant and Bailey's Restaurant for fine dining. You must try the Trumpeter, it's served at most restaurants and it's amazing! We initially stayed in Burnt Pine at the Cumberland Resort. The great part of staying in and around Burnt Pine is that the tour buses pick you up right in front of your property.

A trip to Norfolk Island is a must, not many attractions for kids, more suited to travelers who are interested in the culture and history of the island. A few adjustments to consider with food due to availability of product. Overall an experience not to be missed if it's on your list then go there!

Paradise Hotel & Resort is everything people are looking for in a relaxing holiday on Norfolk Island, the Staff are always helpful & love to share their local knowledge, the rooms are spotlessly, clean, the restaurant is open for 3 meals a day & set in a very relaxing atmosphere. We will return to Paradise Hotel & Resort again in the future, to again enjoy wonderful hospitality whilst we further investigate the intriguing & historical Norfolk Island Regards; Ian

Nice town in the heart of Norfolk Island.

Nice town in the heart of Norfolk Island. Lots of shops, cafes and restaurants and some travel agents to organise your tours during your stay on the island. Friendly locals help make your stay even more pleasant. Some of our favourite eating places were La Perouse, High Tide Kitchen and The Olive for breakfast or lunch. Bailey's (our favourite) and Hilli's restaurant for a la carte dinner. Happy cocktail hour at Bailey's from 5pm to 6pm is a must for cocktail lovers.

Extraordinarily friendly and helpful people, a modest but totally fitting range of facilities and services, a history of depth and interest, and the sea views - all just wonderful. Only one point: The museums were closed and did not open until 3 January. That just does not make sense during the Christmas/New Year period - but I understand that the problem was the lack of qualified staff over the holiday period.

Burnt Pine is Norfolk's only village centre with various shops and the major amenities. Includes Information Centre, Hospital, Souvenirs and grocery shopping. Great bowling Club, R.S.L. are also prominent here. Shops close on Weds pm. There is good quality accommodation in Burnt Pine itself if you don't wish to drive, and excellent escorted tours by coach. Personally we preferred to stay in one of the many outskirt country accommodation places with magnificent views of the ocean and outer islands. Essential to hire a car and explore the many beautiful parts around the island. Roads are rather potholed in many sections but you can only drive at 50kph anyway. Well worth the visits to many unspoiled picnic areas with fantastic views that the escorted trips don't get to. In most cases you will often be alone on these spots! Magic Island, lovely people.
