Although the city is expensive for our budget, the atmosphere, the amount of stuff to do and experience, the beauty and livability of the city, I can recommend visiting Copenhagen. There is something for everyone here.

We stayed in Copenhagen for 2 nights.

We stayed in Copenhagen for 2 nights. We arrived at 4pm on Friday and left at 7am on Sunday. Friday night we headed straight for The Little Mermaid by train to the main intersection (about 7 stops) and walked the rest of the way. We then walked to the Nyhaven area with all the pretty buildings. It was really busy for food and drink. Saturday we took the train over the bridge to sweden at 10am from central station and came back at 8pm. Everyone had recommended we visit the Tivoli Gardens which were right beside the central station. However it was about £20 per person to get in. We said no, even though saturday night is fireworks night but we had to be up early. Instead we went to Ripleys which also had a special section on Hans Christian Anderson which was lovely. Then the Hard Rock Cafe.

I have been to Copenhagen many times it is a vibrant city with very friendly people. I have one observation, I first visited in 1963 and revisited numerous times since as my wife was Danish, the level of cleanliness has deteriorated in that time which is a great shame.

It's a city full of history and beautiful sights.

It's a city full of history and beautiful sights. It's also the perfect base to explore other areas on day trips. Transportation is easy and very accessible - there are trams, trains and of course, bicycles. We tried the Tivoloi Food Court (take your pick of cuisine), Vivaldi's, Guldmagerens Hus (Nyhavn Street) and all were very good. We loved the Politically Incorrect Walking Tour Highlights of Copenhagen with Thor as our guide. We walked Tivoli Gardens and found great people watching and good ice cream. We took a day trip to Roskilde to see The Viking Ship Museum (worth a visit) and Roskilde Cathedral where all Danish royalty are buried. Gorgeous church and organ with impressive resting places for past kings/queens. On the sunny day we had, we took an hour long canal tour from Nyhavn Street and wandered the shops and street. We walked through Christiania (quite the 1960s hippie commune feel). All were lovely.

    We loved Copenhagen.

We loved Copenhagen. It is easy to fill a week there and day trips eg Helsingor / Louisiana / Roskilde are very easy by train. The rejsekort app makes buying metro & train tickets very simple on your phone. The city felt very safe to wander around, locals we met were friendly and helpful and all spoke English. We didn’t need to use currency at all.

The location of this hotel was perfect, right next to the main train station which we used every day with our Copenhagen Card! The room was basic but good and the beds were super comfy! Breakfast was good with a decent selection, we left full everyday. The staff were lovely and the locker storage was very easy and convenient. If you're looking to stay for a few days and explore the city centre and further afield this hotel ticks all these boxes, would stay again!

The hotel is close to the central railway station and the metro station. The city centre is also within walking distance. The rooms are very tiny, has no shelf or storage where you can put your clothes (everything stays in the bag), but still good for a couple of days while you visit Copenhagen.
