Lauterbrunnen is a good place to base yourself for the Jungfrau region. It has an excellent train service to various places, by train and cable car. The Coop shop had lots of choice for your evening meal, plus there are many restaurants and bars to choose from too. The town was very clean and pretty with flower boxes at many of the windows. The Information Centre is very close to the train station. The trains were amazing - they ran on time to the minute, and were clean and comfortable. The many waterfalls, and in particular the thunderous Trummelbach Falls on the outskirts of the town were outstanding. You can climb up into the Staubbach falls from the town park. The town has an outdoor swimming pool but we were too busy to try it out. An important thing to stress is, if you can buy a travel pass, it will save you money.
