The DoubleTree by Hilton is a classic hotel, loved for years by visitors to Newcastle. Excellent for my taste. Conveniently for travellers, breakfast starts really early.

The hotel is 300 metres from the terminal building at Newcastle Airport and a 15-minute Metro ride from Newcastle city centre. It has free Wi-Fi, a restaurant and a cocktail bar. Great access to airport for a very early flight 6:40am to Heathrow. Had to be there for 4:40 am. Had a couple of drinks in the bar/restaurant and a pizza. Bed at 8:00 pm. Up at 3:30. Gone by 4:30 am Very nice very convenient. Staff very friendly and helpful. Desk staff even commented on my nice pen as he wrote down the wifi passcode. Nice guy! Thankyou

The location was perfect and to say it was right near the airport and roads leading to it, it was quite quiet. Lovely cottage that felt homely, the room was just what I needed and it was comfy. The lady as lovely who runs it and price was worth it. I will definitely be keeping this property in mind for further stays

Felt safe as lone, female traveller. Very comfortable bed and exceptional shower too. Fabulous breakfast and very helpful host.
