Roughly every 2 weeks I backup important files to a external hard drive.

One of the things I always backup is my Firefox profile. I have been doing this for years without any problems.

I 7zip my profile and copy it to the hard drive.

I tried to do this yesterday (July 25 2025), and was getting access denied messages for files in the profile. So I tried to simply copy the profile. Same thing access denied.

I cleared the history, used wise disk cleaner, rebooted my machine and tried again. Same thing access denied when trying to backup or copy the profile.

I am assuming that this is happening since 141 because I updated Firefox since the last time I backed up my profile, and never had a problem previously.

Could anyone have an idea what the problem is? Thank you for your time.

It seems that scrolling periodically stops working, whenever I encounter nested scrolling on a page, eg. gemini.google.com with enabled canvas.

I scroll through the file, and then can't scroll through the conversation (However I can keep scrolling inside the file window). It usually starts working again in a few minutes.

Hi. News videos from www.bbc.com won't play. When I ask the BBC website to play a video, I get a blank area of my screen, with a play button. Clicking the button makes it go away, leaving me with just the blank area of the screen. Videos from youtube, movie trailers, etc play fine - it's just videos from a few sites (such as BBC) that yield nothing. I have autoplay videos disabled by default, but: I'm not trying to have the website autoplay; The setting doesn't affect other websites; and there's no way to disable autoplay for the website I'm on (no way I can find, at least).

I have a Scotiabank account. Its login name is my CC or rather debit card number. I got a new card with a new number. FF will not let me change the old one to the new one. So I went through Safari and entered the new one by hand, which allowed me to do my online banking a day or two ago.

I want to use FF and to change the number, because FF is my default browser and I like it.

Hi, I've seen others ask this same question in archived posts with no proper answer.

How do I select all tabs to be imported from a synced machine? I have the list on my sidebar, I can import or close one tab at a time, but there is no menu available to select them all (there are many). Right-clicking on the device name etc. does nothing.

Windows 11, Firefox 141.0

Hello, I have used Mozilla FireFox for some time now and thought restoring it to a new device using my account after a catastrophic laptop failure on July 12 would be the easiest of the recovery tasks I was going to have to pursue but apparently not. For a start, not all my passwords are available to me and then the look and feel of the browser is different. Where I had grouped tabs of bookmarked URLs the Bookmark bar has reverted to an older version with some bookmarks I had deleted and some newer ones missing. I'm not even able to reconstruct what I had working before and it's become very frustrating. Is there an older history/moment in time I can revert to? I've already been told that the VPN I have been subscribed to is not compatible with my new ARM-based device so my loyalty to Mozilla is being tested at this time. Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

I have a problem that I cannot resolve for months. I'm always listening to YouTube I'm listening music while I'm working or I'm doing task on Firefox I used to have no problem I just Open YouTube and let it play on auto play and it goes no matter what. About 6 months ago I started to experiment some problems the video stop all the time even if I have a playlist going on like 50 song one after another it will stop once in a while for no reason. It pissed me off so much that I have to change my browser by default and I don't like other browser I use always Firefox with DuckDuckGo so when I'm trap to use other browser I get mad the only one that functions very good it's on edge Microsoft and seriously I cannot stand this… I'm forced to use YouTube only on edge it's the only place that it works no matter what it never stop. It used to be a little arrow in the bottom of the screen, a button that you can click on and off to Auto play or not, this button disappear it's not even there no more. This button Auto Play it's not there in Edge or Google Chrome but YouTube works for them not for Firefox so what is the problem it's not the setting is it YouTube that's got problem with Firefox? I don't know, it must be a way, a back door because I need to go back with Firefox I need to go back with DuckDuckGo. I'm pissed because I have to leave just because of that and that it's no compromise for me my music will pass before everything else. I don't feel like asking question to the community because it takes months before they answer you if they do. It's no customer service for Firefox or Mozilla whatsoever they don't answer you they don't talk to you they don't fucking care and this is another thing that pisses me off because they have a good thing going on but they don't care about the people. This was, this is what I did so far: Disable Hardware Acceleration "Performance" section.

I unchecked "Use recommended performance settings."

Extensions about:addons I disabled all extensions to see if the problem persists… nothing happen YouTube I used YouTube in a Private Window … nothing happen YouTube Playback Settings I changed the video quality … nothing happen

Graphics Drivers I ensure that my graphics drivers are up to date. They are Testing Other Browsers I already mentioned that Edge works well Google Chrome also. Using desktop 141.0, noticed issue of the hand pointer either not appearing, or appearing for less than a second and disappearing when hovering over buttons/urls/etc elements. Sometimes it stops being buggy for a minute or so and then goes back. I can't figure out the exact cause for this, but maybe going outside of the window of the browser ? Consistent in the safe mode, on different websites. See the gif for the visual

Hi I recently installed a new webpage in Wordpress. It worked and I got the theme window on my website. I use two browser - Chrome and Fire fox. Now time for me to start installing a new "ready made" theme. It all looked good on Chrome when finished. I opened the same link in Firefox, but Firefox has not changed to the latest theme. https://condorentalpattaya.com I am totally out of clue. Removing cookies and other memory related functions does not work. I do not use Cloudflare. It works on my mobile.

Firefox 141.0 update has made everything move very slow. Pages will only partially load then take several seconds to completely fill out. If you click on something, the little dot on the browser tab will be gray for several seconds and then eventually turn blue and open the page. It's like it's having to think a little bit before opening the page. Everything just seems delayed.

Emergency!!! I just arrived home from a trip, and on my primary pc, I had saved say 50 tabs over a number of years. I was/am interested in syncing, but I had taken no known actionable steps to do so - but when I arrived home, my primary pc did not open the previous session. I lost everything. Spent hours trying to recover the previous session. Then, I simply decided to go back seven days and restore those tabs. Eight Hundred(!!!!!) tabs were restored, from what appears to be from each of my computers. I am now deleting the 750 unnecessary & repetitive tabs (again, on my primary computer), I am now *scared to death* to boot any of my other computers and have all of my history wiped again. WTF!!!??? Thank you very much!!!
