Pay with Suica & PASMO on your smartwatch (Japan only)

Important: You can only have one PASMO card per Google Account. If you already have a PASMO card on your phone, you need to transfer it on your smartwatch to use it.

To make contactless payments where Suica and PASMO are accepted in Japan, you can use any of the 2 in Google Wallet on your smartwatch.

To use Suica and PASMO on your watch, you must have a Wear OS smartwatch that supports FeliCa.

The Wear OS smartwatches that support FeliCa are:

  • Google Pixel Watch, Google Pixel Watch 2, and Google Pixel Watch 3
  • Samsung Galaxy Watch 6, Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, Galaxy Watch 7, and Galaxy Watch Ultra

Tips:

  • These devices must be purchased in Japan.
  • Even if your smartphone doesn’t support Osaifu-Keitai, you can still use Suica and PASMO on your watch.
  • You can use your commuter pass from your watch with PASMO.

Create a new Suica & PASMO card on your smartwatch

If you have a Suica or PASMO card on your account, you’ll be prompted to transfer your existing card. For Suica, you can create a second card on your smartwatch. Learn how to transfer Suica or PASMO between devices and to your watch.

  1. On your watch, open Google Wallet .
  2. Tap Add Add.
  3. On your phone, tap Suica or PASMO.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Tap Continue.

Add money to Suica or PASMO on your smartwatch

From your watch:

  1. Open Google Wallet .
  2. Tap Suica or PASMO.
  3. Swipe down.
  4. Tap Add Money.
    • Your phone will show the card detail page.
  5. Add or select a payment method.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions.
    • You'll find your updated card balance.

From your paired phone:

  1. Open your Google Pixel Watch companion app.
  2. Tap Google and then Google Wallet and then Suica or PASMO.
  3. Tap Add Money.
  4. Select the amount of money you want to add.
  5. Add or select a payment method.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions.
    • You’ll find your updated card balance.

Make a payment in store

  1. Go to a contactless reader that accepts Suica or PASMO.
  1. Find the Suica or PASMO Pay> PASMO logo.
  2. Inform the cashier that you want to pay with Suica or PASMO.
  3. Hold your watch next to the reader.
    • You don’t need to unlock it or open the app.
  1. After your payment is successful, the terminal will make a sound.

Make a payment for transit

You can use Google Wallet to pay for transit with your Suica card or PASMO anywhere they're accepted.

To pay, hold your smartwatch to the terminal where you would normally put your card. You don’t need to unlock it or open the app.

For Galaxy Watch series users, hold your watch with the 12 o’clock area closest to the reader. Learn more about Galaxy Watch6 for contactless payments.

If you have a commuter pass with PASMO, you can use it on your watch after you transfer it. You can also renew your commuter pass with PASMO on your watch, starting from 14 days before its expiration date until it expires.

Important: You can't renew your PASMO commuter pass on your watch once it's expired. Transfer your PASMO card to your smartphone and buy a new commuter pass from the Mobile PASMO app. Learn how to transfer Suica or PASMO between devices and to your watch.

To renew your commuter pass:

  1. On your watch, open the Google Wallet app .
  2. Tap your PASMO card and then the commuter pass you want to renew and then Renew.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Set PASMO or Suica as your default transit card

If you have both Suica and PASMO in your smartwatch, to change the default card for transit:

On your watch:

  1. Open the Google Wallet app .
  2. Tap Suica or PASMO and then Activate.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

On your paired phone:

  1. Open your Google Pixel Watch companion app.
  2. Tap Google and then Google Wallet and then Suica or PASMO.
  3. At the top, tap Activate.

Remove Suica or PASMO from your smartwatch

When you remove Suica or PASMO from your watch, you can’t use it for purchases with Google Wallet. Your transaction history may also be removed. After you remove your card from your watch, it is saved to your account. You can manage your card from the Suica website and PASMO or transfer the card to another device. Learn how to transfer Suica or PASMO between devices.

To cancel your Suica card, go to the Suica website. To cancel your PASMO card and refund its balance, go to the PASMO website or app.

From your watch:

  1. Open Google Wallet .
  2. Tap Suica or PASMO.
  3. Swipe down.
  4. Tap Remove from watch.

From your paired phone:

  1. Open your Google Pixel Watch companion app.
  2. Tap Google and then Google Wallet and then Suica or PASMO.
  3. At the top right, tap More More and then Remove from watch.

Find your Suica or PASMO transaction history

Important: If many transactions happen in a short amount of time, Google Wallet may not show all your transaction details.

From your watch:

  1. Open Google Wallet .
  2. Tap Suica or PASMO.
  3. Swipe down.
  4. Tap Activity.

From your paired phone:

  1. Open your Google Pixel Watch companion app.
  2. Tap Google and then Google Wallet and then Suica or PASMO.
  3. Tap Activity.

Fix a problem

Can't find my Suica or PASMO registered on smartwatch

You may be using Google Wallet with multiple Google accounts. When you switch Google accounts, your Suica card or PASMO is removed from your smartwatch and is uploaded to your account automatically. You can add your card back to the watch when you switch accounts again.

To retrieve your Suica or PASMO card:

  1. On your watch, open Google Wallet .
  2. Choose the Google account that you registered Suica or PASMO with.
  3. Tap Add Add.
  4. On your phone paired with your smartwatch, follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Tap the existing card that you want to add to your smartwatch.
Can’t retrieve existing Suica card on smartwatch

At this moment, active or expired commuter passes on Suica cards aren't supported on your smartwatch. You must create a new Suica card on your smartwatch.

Setup auto top-up for Suica or PASMO on my watch

If you have an auto top-up setting on your phone, you can still continue to use it even after you transfer Suica or PASMO on your smartwatch. To change the setting, move your Suica or PASMO card back to your phone and adjust the settings in the Suica or PASMO Mobile app.

Can't top up

You might have reached your maximum allowed top-up amount. Try again later or try to top up with cash in-store.

Can't find your smartwatch Suica card or PASMO in Google Wallet on mobile

To find your Suica or PASMO card on your watch from your smartphone, open the Watch Companion app and manage your Suica or PASMO from there.

Suica account or PASMO account is blocked or inactive
  1. From the companion app, open the Google Wallet Suica card page.
  2. To find your Suica or PASMO card number, scroll.
  3. Prepare your Suica or PASMO card number and contact JREor PASMO support center.
