Over the years users have wanted to run their own deployments of the Rego Playground. Recently a couple of 3rdparty projects have been created to provide that functionality:

We think it makes sense to release a version of the playground (independent of Styra infrastructure) under OPA so that the community can use it as a starting point. Per the governance model, we must vote on new repos.

To move forward we need to:

• Host a vote amongst the maintainers as outlined in GOVERNANCE.md
• Transfer the repo from https://github.com/styrainc/playground into OPA
• Create a GitHub team to maintain it (initial members will be @johanfylling and @sspaink)
• Ensure DCO is enabled
• Add a security notice pointing back to SECURITY.md
