Description
During tests with program proxying, I set up a local server at 127.0.0.1:3080 and proxied the Floorp browser (floorp.exe). Traffic separation was done using containers:
Container A: Configured to use the proxy 127.0.0.1:3080 natively (via browser settings).
Observation: No connection drops occurred.
Container B: Configured to route traffic directly but proxied via Proxifyre to the same address (127.0.0.1:3080).
Observation: Frequent connection drops (over 10 reconnects in 25 minutes).
For experimental consistency, I also proxied chrome.exe through Proxifyre—the result was the same: frequent reconnections.
Steps to Reproduce:
Set up a local proxy server (e.g., 127.0.0.1:3080).
For Container A: Configure Floorp to use the proxy directly (browser settings).
For Container B: Route traffic through Proxifyre to the same proxy.
Open Twitch chat (e.g., https://www.twitch.tv/popout/test1/chat).
Monitor for reconnections (chat message: "Welcome to the chat room!" indicates a reconnect).
Expected Behavior:
Both containers should maintain stable connections without reconnects.
Actual Behavior:
Only Container A (native proxy) is stable. Container B (Proxifyre) experiences frequent disconnections, regardless of the browser (Floorp or Chrome).
Additional Context:
Same proxy used in all cases.
